Whether it’s your first time hiring an eBike from us, or you’d like to rebook for longer, we’ve rounded up some of the most frequently asked questions we get asked about eBike Hire.
eBike Hire: What personal information is required?
To ensure you are kitted out with the perfect bike for your ride, we’ll need to ask you for…
Your Height & Weight. We’ll pick a frame size that best suited to your height & build.
For safety reasons, the maximum recommended weight for eBikes is 120-125Kg.
We’ll ask your gender. We have eBikes for hire that are better suited for ladies, with dropped bars and generally lighter in weight.
eBike Hire: What route/s do you recommend?
Perfectly located in the South Downs, there are many routes you can ride to directly from the shop. Yet for more detailed and longer routes, some of Owens’ tried and tested Strava routes are listed on our Bike Rides & Route Maps page here.
Alternatively, the team will happily point you in the right direction if you’d like to talk through.
eBike Hire: How long would you like to hire an electric bike for?
We offer ‘Taster Sessions’, 1 day hire for £39.99, ‘Weekend Warriors’, 3 days hire for £99.99 or ‘Adventures Await’, 7 days hire for £199.99.

eBike Hire: Do you offer Group eBike hire?
We can hire more than one eBike if you are planning a group ride! Just let us know how many bikes you’d like and all the same key rider personal information.
eBike Hire: What is the availability?

eBike Hire: What accessories are included?
When you hire an eBike from us, we’ll kit you out with a crash helmet, (if you don’t have your own), a puncture repair kit, phone holder if required, lights if needed. And if you’d like a Pannier bag or rack, these are available to hire for a small extra fee.
eBike Hire: Can I try before I buy?
We want you to be one hundred percent sure that you don’t just like, but love the bike you’re intending to buy and it will get regular use, so hire an eBike from us for 1 day and so long as your purchase is within 3 months of the initial hire date, we’ll refund you £39.99 off the cost of a new eBike.

eBike Hire: Is ‘try before you buy’ available on Cyclescheme?
If you purchase your bike through the Government’s Cyclescheme initiative then we will still happily refund you £39.99 off the total cost of your new eBike and/or accessories.
