At Owens Cycles / Rightbike all wheels and bikes are hand-built in-house by owner Owen Pattinson, and his team of expert bike mechanics. Owen and the team have built thousands of custom wheels and bikes for customers – and themselves! From wheels to tackle the famous Land’s End to John O Groats route, to Adventure/Enduro bikes for a tour from South Spain to North Spain, taking in the Sierra Nevada on route, to heavy duty touring wheels designed for the Silk Road, Shanghai back to the UK.

Requirements for custom wheel builds are as varied as the bikes themselves! Factors including riding style, terrain, budgets, not to mention the plethora of top manufacturers’ rims, hubs, spokes, nipples and tyres to choose from will affect the parts we recommend and ultimately the price too.

How long does it take to build my custom wheel?

At Owens Cycles each set of custom wheels is built by hand to each customer’s unique requirements. Provided parts are readily available, our custom wheel builds can take between 7 and 10 working days to complete from receipt of order.

How will I receive my custom wheel?

The team will contact you as soon as your wheels are ready for collection. And, if applicable fit them to your frame ready for you too.

If required, we can deliver your custom wheels for an additional delivery fee, just ask the team for a price.

Can you get parts from all major manufacturers?

Yes. Owens Cycles works with all bike component manufacturers including Hope, DT Swiss, Sapim, Shimano, SON, Exposure, Ryde, Halo, Odyssey, Profile and many more!

Can you build an entire custom bike?

Of course, just let the team know what you need and what’s on your wish list and they can get to work.

Are custom wheel builds available on Cyclescheme?

Yes. You’ll just need a fixed quote for your custom wheels, plus frame and any accessories to start your Cyclescheme application.

Do you offer a guarantee on custom wheel & bike builds?

Yes. Whilst problems are extremely rare, we want our customers to feel confident in their purchase.

Wheels are built up of component parts, hubs, spokes, rims, each covered by the individual manufacturers’ warranties for defects – not rider damage. (Understandably, fair wear and tear after sustained use can not be covered by the warranty).

Owen takes great pride in custom wheel builds. If they don’t measure up to the ride they were designed for, then we will more than happily collect, inspect, repair and return the wheels at cost to the business.
